Here are some of our favorites — places that truly capture the spirit and rhythm of the region.
Take your time. Let the region surprise you.
1 Chemin de la Traverse, Aumond, Québec, Canada
Step into the history of Aumond with a visit to the Moulin des Pères, a former sawmill built by the Oblate Fathers in 1861. An interpretive trail runs along the Joseph River, offering historical panels and views of the old dam structures still visible today.
63 Chemin du Ruisseau des Cerises, Gracefield, Québec J0X 1W0
Built in 1932 during the Great Depression, the Cousineau covered bridge spans the Picanoc River over 30 metres. Designed in the “Town lattice truss” style, it reflects a time when these structures were built to protect the wooden deck and ensure longevity. Today, it's one of the few remaining covered bridges in the Outaouais region.
A nice stop for history lovers and photography fans.
Chemin du Cerf, Sainte-Thérèse-de-la-Gatineau, Québec J0X 2X0
The Chute Rouge trail network, in Sainte‑Thérèse‑de‑la‑Gatineau, spans 16 km of paths—ideal for hiking and snowshoeing in winter — leading to a scenic cascade and peaceful lookouts. The site includes an interpretation centre, informative signage, a lookout, and free parking.
